1) Chris Gayle – 175* in IPL 2013

The Universal Boss holds the record of scoring the highest individual score in an innings of a T20 match.

Gayle’s blitzkrieg came against the now defunct, Pune Warriors as he blazed to 175 runs off 65 deliveries.

The southpaw was playing for the Bangalore outfit back then and what’s more, he reached his century of 30 balls! His 175* included 13 fours and 7 maximums.

This score remains the highest till date and no batter has even come closer of reaching this target.

2) Brendon McCullum – 158* in IPL 2008

The Kiwi batter opened the inaugural season of IPL with a bang when he amassed the then highest score in IPL.

The wicketkeeper scored 158 in the opening match for KKR that included 10 fours and 13 sixes as they reached a target of 222/3.

McCullum’s knock not only made the whole cricket world stand-up and applaud but also made him a renowned star in the T20 franchise cricket.

He also holds the record of scoring the IPL’s first ever century.

3) Quinton de Kock – 140 in IPL 2022

If IPL 2022 will be remembered for something, then QDK’s huge ton will surely be right up there.

In the league match between Lucknow and Kolkata, the former batted first and opened with KL Rahul and De Kock.

The South African played a memorable knock of 140 off 70 deliveries as he alongside Rahul, blasted the Kolkata bowlers in all corners of the ground.

The southpaw reached this total with 10 fours and 10 sixes as the newly formed franchise, did not lose a single wicket.

QDK’s score in the third highest in the list of individual scorers and could the one that might take some doing to break it.

4) AB de Villiers – 133 in IPL 2015

Another Proteas great who makes this list is none other than AB de Villiers. The former South African skipper scored 133 off 59 deliveries as his partnership with Virat Kohli made sure that RCB reached a match-winning total.

His innings included some stylish shots to say the least as it included 19 fours and 4 sixes.

De Villiers’ batting has been nothing short of sensational over the years in the IPL and this knock is surely up there to be one of the finest T20 innings ever played!

5) KL Rahul – 132 in IPL 2020

In the 2020 IPL season, KL Rahul was the Punjab captain and he made sure his batting did all the talking when the former scored a blistering 132 off 69 balls.

His match-winning knock included 14 fours and 7 sixes as his century made sure Punjab ended up on the winning side.

This knock remains the highest individual score by an Indian player in the coveted T20 League.

Punjab amassed 206 and ended up bowling the opposition cheaply and winning the match by 97 runs.
